Remember when Cassandra July and Snow White danced their hearts out to Salt-N-Pepa’s Push It?
Just watched Bunheads 1x08. The usual trouble is finding a favorite quote, because it’s all so hilarious. But with Fanny’s tirade about cheerleading in the beginning and then later on encouraging Boo that enthusiasm can create magic etc, I need somebody to fic this:
Rachel Berry is the star in Madame Fanny’s ballet class. Of course since she’s Rachel other girls don’t appreciate her attitude. Santana Lopez is the Captain of the school’s cheerleading squad and right hand to Coach Sylvester. Important: Fanny and Sue went to school together. Fighting over boys or lab partners or seats in class or well, just all of the above and then some. Now Rachel and Santana keep that antagonism alive until they bang, because Pezberry.
Watching and watching and watching again. Already have 3/4 of the speech memorized… but damn this girl is the best. Santana’s not afraid to cut a bitch?

“Damn, that’s my Captain! Love the girl. I will gladly fetch her a knife if she needs one.”
How to keep Finn Hudson near New York
The Glee writers missed a wonderful opportunity to fuck the shit all the more up. I mean, they had Finn attempting to go to the Actor’s Studio, a Master’s programme and nothing really made sense. So, why not getting him ready for *drumroll* West Point? It would make even less sense, he can be in uniform and it’s only 50 miles away from NYC. Of course in your first year you don’t get to leave, but… it’s Glee. He can sing out his feelings and stuff. With DADT being lifted I’m sure Finn will find himself some gays for a show choir (let’s face it, girls will not be present). Finn Hudson is all about being a leader. West Point is all about leadership. In the world of Glee this is perfect matchmaking. I don’t believe Finn would have the grades to pull this off, but what makes me laugh is, that Burt is a congressman, he could write his nomination. Breaking the engagement was also an important requirement. It fits in so many ways. Anybody writing that fanfiction already? XD
Cheerios feelings… and why Quinn didn’t give me any
I am thankful for one thing in the finale - at least they remembered to mention that the Cheerios won Nationals. Nice of Coach Roz to congratulate Sue. Now let’s celebrate that Santana and Brittany had one of their goals this year come true. Hello, these two have three Cheerleading National titles under their belt (they had to be on the Squad during their Freshman year already, we saw the victory as Sophomores and now this).
But you know what I find upsetting? We get a scene of Quinn giving back her uniform. Why? She had that for like a day, wore it for an hour. And that was it. Quinn hasn’t been a Cheerio for one and a half years. When Sue first stated Quinn reminded her of one young Sue Sylvester I sat back and watched. And very early on said that this doesn’t add up. If there is one girl who resembles Sue it’s Santana. An actual soft spot underneath a hard exterior, also quick with insults. Quinn is a sneaky villain, Sue and Santana are head on. At times the dynamic between Will/Sue could be compared to Finn/Santana. Quinn has many personalities, but a mini-Sue she’s not. And so that particular goodbye scene didn’t do anything for me.
I don’t give a fuck about Faberry as a romancy shippy ship, but that bathroom moment between the girls (apart from Rachel declaring Quick her OTP *facepalm*) was the only moment worth watching Quinn. Where were those feelings for Puck coming from? Did the writers think if a girl would pull the same crap Finn did with Santana it would somehow be less weird? If you don’t care for your first sex partner that much it’s okay. It’s shitty, but it’s okay. Don’t give me this “you were my first, therefore I care about you”, when they didn’t even speak to each other for a year. What was this? Desperately trying to seek out people Quinn had a connection to? Then cut that Sylvester scene or the Quick crap and give me conclusion to the Unholy Trinity. Quinn having something to say about Brittany not graduating would have at least felt like continuity after Prom and Nationals. Not that this friendship was ever explored… Unholy Trinity feelings stem mostly from headcanon.
Quinn giving back that once worn uniform… Santana was Head Cheerio. Sue pulled strings to get her that Louisville scholarship. Sue was there when Santana saw the commercial for the first time. Sue reminded us of Santana’s boobjob time and again. Now there could have been a moment…
Guess the writers realized that the “most popular girl at the school” didn’t have any friends and just threw something in that would have made sense back in S1. It’s weird when even I have to admit that the Faberry scene was the only one that felt right with Quinn. Too bad most of the friendship moments for Rachel came out of the blue and weren’t actively developed. *sigh*
Wondering if Quinn Fabray was the flight attendant on Grey’s Anatomy tonight…
Do you want a crash with that blanket?
